Adrian Heyworth-Smith, "Founding Father", twice President and Patron of Friends of Antiquity, was a fine Latin scholar who, as Adjunct Professor, taught Latin poetry to advanced and Honours level students. This year's Memorial Lecture will honour Adrian as a Latinist by means of a selection of readings, in English, from four Latin poets whom Adrian particularly liked - Catullus, Virgil, Horace and Ovid. The selections will be read by Jack Taylor (Catullus), Dorothy Watts (Virgil), Denis Brosnan (Horace) and Bob Milns (Ovid), who will each speak briefly about their own poet’s life.
