In his talk today Dr Miller looks at strange happenings at a very famous battle of 480BC between the Greeks and the Persians.
Dr Max Miller was awarded his PhD in 2009 for a very fine thesis entitled "A Reappraisal of Geophysical Phenomena and associated Portents in the Classical World". Many of you will have heard his entertaining talks at Friends of Antiquity Sunday Series on aspects of his research, such as Earthquake Lights, and Human, Animal and Plant Responses to Earthquakes.
Non-members are welcome. A donation of $10 per person includes entry in the lucky door prize and afternoon tea. Afternoon tea will be held in E318, Forgan Smith Building.
