As part of Ancient History Day 2010, there will be a free public lecture, entitled "A Day in the Life of Pompeii", commencing at 8pm and followed by a light supper.
This lecture examines how the inhabitants of Pompeii, both rich and poor, spent their day. It begins by showing where they lived, what they did in the morning, what they ate for lunch, and how they spent their afternoons.
It looks at the markets, the shops, the political system, religion and the festivals. It concludes with a dinner party and examines how the Pompeians dined and what they ate.
Please note: Parking restrictions apply on the campus until 9pm. Further information about parking and transport is available from http://www.uq.edu.au/about/transport.
